Jonathan Arons is a Grammy winning New York City trombonist, dancer, and writer who’s backed up such R&B artists Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, The Temptations, The O’Jays, Ashford and Simpson, Gloria Gaynor and many others as a member of the world renown Chops Horns. Jazz credits include the Charles Mingus Big Band,
The Vanguard Orchestra, and as a member of the Dave Holland Big Band playing on the 2005 Grammy winning Big Band album Overtime. In Salsa/Merengue, he’s played with Cuco Valoy, Nino Segarra, Hector Tricoche, and Raulin Rosendo.
But what Arons is most known for is being the “trombone dancer”, the guy who plays trombone a little and dances a lot on various television shows many of which have become popular video clips seen by millions on the Internet. American television appearances include America's Got Talent: Season 3, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Steve Harvey's Big Time, Showtime in Harlem,
The Today Show and Maury. In the UK he has appeared on the BBC shows “When Will I Be Famous?” and the children's show The Slammer. He has degrees in Jazz Performance and Biochemistry from Oberlin Conservatory and College.
