Are all phones WAP enabled?

Only phones with WAP capabilities can access WAP. If your phone does not support WAP there is no way to make it WAP compatible.

What is WAP?

WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) is a protocol standard that provides Internet browsing functionality for small hand-held devices - such as mobile phones and personal digital assistants - via a mini-browser built into the unit.

What else do I need?


To access the 94.7 Highveld Stero mobile content your handset's Service Inbox must be activated. Your Service Inbox must also be clear before requesting content on a continuous basis. Below are examples of how to activate some common handset models for Handset Manufacturers:

Samsung Handsets

  • Press Menu
  • Scroll to Fun Box and press Select
  • Scroll to WAP Browser and press Select
  • Scroll to Push Message and press Select
  • Go into Receive and select Always

OR

Samsung Handsets

  • Press Menu and go to Messages
  • Scroll to Push Messages and press Select
  • Go into Settings and select Always

Nokia Handsets

Nokia (Series 40 Handsets)

  • Press Menu
  • Scroll to Services or Web and press Select
  • Scroll to Settings and press Select
  • Go into Service Messages and select ON

Nokia: (Series 60 Handsets)

  • Press the Menu button
  • Scroll to Messaging
  • Press Option and select Open
  • Press Options and select Settings
  • Go down to Service Messages press Option and select Open
  • Scroll to Service Messages press Options and select Change
  • Scroll to ON and press Select

Motorola Handsets

  • Press Menu and go to Messages
  • Scroll to Browser Messages and press Select
  • Press the Menu Button and select Setup
  • Scroll to Services and select Receive All


Sony Ericsson Handsets

  • Press Menu and go to Messaging
  • Scroll to Settings and press Select
