THE BEST OF SOUTH AFRICA’S COMEDIANS
COME TOGETHER TO SUPPORT MR MANDELA’S 46664 CAMPAIGN

Due to the overwhelming success of the 46664 Its No Joke at Sun City, 46664 and Real Concerts are happy to announce that it will now take place in the heart of Johannesburg on Saturday 1 May 2010 at The Sandton Convention Centre making it more accessible for all to attend.

South Africa’s top ten comedians will once again take to the stage to support the 46664 campaign. On the line up will be Barry Hilton, Chris Forrest, David Kau, John Vlismas, Marc Lottering, Ndumiso Lindi, Nik Rabinowitz, Riaad Moosa, Trevor Noah and Tumi Morake.

The show is the biggest comedy production ever done for the live stage in South Africa and should not be missed. In February Eddie Izzard performed in South Africa in support of the 46664 campaign. The shows sold out in a matter of hours. Following the huge success of this announcement, 46664 and Real Concerts joined forces once again, bringing together, for the first time ever, South Africa’s top comedians, for It’s No Joke - a night of the best of comedy in the country at Sun City on 27 February which was also a huge success.

Tim Massey, International Director of 46664 says “We are delighted with the success of the 46664 It’s No Joke comedy shows and we are inspired by the support of these brilliant comedians, who have given their time once again in support of the 46664 campaign.

By using comedy we have a new platform to add to music and sport that delivers our message on social justice whilst calling upon each of us to help improve our society.”

46664 Its No Joke , 1 May 2010 at the Sandton Convention Centre, Proudly supported by 94.7 Highveld Stereo and Real Concerts.

46664About 46664

The 46664 campaign takes its name from Mr. Mandela’s Robben Island prison number. He was prisoner number 466, incarcerated in 1964. Inspired by the vision and leadership of Nelson Mandela, the 46664 campaign initially focused on generating global awareness of HIV AIDS through the staging of international concerts and sporting events throughout the world. 46664 has now widened its focus to support the broader humanitarian work of the Nelson Mandela charitable organizations.

Following Mr. Mandela’s 90th birthday celebrations in London’s Hyde Park in June 2008, 46664 launched the inaugural “Mandela Day” in New York in recognition of Mr Mandela’s legacy and the ongoing work of his charitable organizations. Mandela Day will henceforth be celebrated annually on Mr Mandela’s birthday, July 18th in South Africa and internationally.

On November 11th 2009 the United Nations unanimously resolved to endorse the day and from hereon July 18th will be known as Nelson Mandela International Day.

In 2010 Madrid plays the international host to Nelson Mandela Day.
The 46664 campaign is supported by over 100 international ambassadors from the world of sport and entertainment.
